Here I have for sale my beautiful Zenith Port Royal watch exhibiting a lovely black dial with silvered Arabic numerals. The watch has a sub-dial above the six o’clock position showing running seconds and  resembling the layout of classic mechanical watches.. A minute track runs around the dial with minute numerals attractively distributed in a contrasting red colour. The Port Royal is of the “Grand Taille” (BIG SIZE) variety, measuring 29 X 43 mm. This is essentially a men’s model. Do not be misled by the dimensions -29 mm would be small for a round watch. However, due to the rectangular shape the watch really wears much larger and is the equivalent of at least a 36 mm conventional watch, perhaps even a little more. To its advantage, it has a thickness of only 7.2 mm meaning that it will slide under a cuff easily. In my opinion it is just the right size or “sweet spot” for a rectangular watch.

Inside, the watch is powered by the reliable quartz movement ETA 980.163. which runs with 15 jewels. The movement is slender, measuring just 13 X 15.m mm with a thickness of just 2.2 mm -some feat! Battery life can be as much as 33 months.

The watch comes on its original Zenith steel bracelet. The bracelet with watch included has a circumference of about 18 cm. The photographs show the watch on my 7 inch wrist and is just a little too large for my size. If I were to keep the watch I would need to remove a half link at least. Links are held together by pins which can be pushed out/in to remove/add links. The bracelet opens and closes with a very useful hidden “butterfly” clasp. The watch comes with a handy Zenith travel case/box. It goes without saying that the watch is running well and is in very good condition.

There you have it -a quality rectangular wristwatch for one of the top watch manufacturers, Zenith. What’s not to like??
