From the seller
Exceptional Girard-Perregaux monopusher chronograph, produced in Switzerland during the 1940s, powered by the Valjoux 23 manual-wind column-wheel movement signed Girard-Perregaux.
The two-register “Antimagnetique” dial displays telemeter (km) and tachymeter scales, blued steel hands, and Arabic numerals. The cream dial has aged with a natural vintage patina, creating a warm tone that enhances its authenticity.
The chrome-plated case (33 mm) shows honest aging; the stainless-steel back is engraved FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE no. 17214. A domed acrylic crystal and leather strap complete the watch.
How It Works
This is a manual-wind monopusher chronograph.
-
Press the single button (integrated in the crown) once → start timing.
-
Press again → stop.
-
Press a third time → reset to zero.
The left sub-dial at 9 o’clock shows running seconds for normal timekeeping; the right sub-dial at 3 o’clock is a 30-minute totalizer for elapsed time.
The movement must be wound manually by turning the crown clockwise until light resistance is felt.
Condition
Vintage and unrestored. Movement is visually complete but not tested for accuracy or water resistance. Service recommended prior to wear. Sold as a collector’s piece.
