From the seller

The Omega Seamaster "De Luxe" was a line of refined dress watches produced from the late 1940s through the 1950s, representing a more elegant variation of the robust, water-resistant Seamaster collection. Introduced as part of the new Seamaster family in 1948, the De Luxe models prioritized sophisticated design and precious metals while retaining the durability of their military-inspired lineage.
Origins and design (1948–1950s)
Post-war civilian watch: In 1948, Omega launched the Seamaster to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The line was based on water-resistant watches the brand had made for the British military during World War II.
Dual identity: While the original Seamaster was designed as a rugged all-purpose watch, Omega created the "De Luxe" versions to appeal to a more discerning, formal market. These early Seamaster De Luxe watches were more elegant and thinner than their sportier counterparts.
Luxury materials: The De Luxe models were often crafted from precious metals such as 18K solid gold, distinguishing them from the standard stainless steel versions. The exclusive line was produced in limited numbers for only a few years during the mid-1950s.
Distinctive features: Design elements of these early De Luxe models included:
Beefy lugs and heavy cases.
Unique dials with two-tone finishes which is know as PiePan or waffle dials. with Dauphine hands

Collectibility
Today, the early Seamaster De Luxe models are prized by collectors for their historical significance, premium materials, and mid-century elegance. The scarcity of these precious metal versions, which were produced in smaller batches than the mainstream Seamasters, makes them particularly sought after. These vintage pieces showcase a moment in Omega's history when the Seamaster name represented both rugged functionality and high-end formal wear.

The Omega caliber 471 is a 1950s automatic watch movement, produced between 1954 and 1959, that was a significant advancement for Omega and is known for being one of the brand's first full-rotor automatic movements. It is part of the 470/490/500 family, features automatic winding, a sweep second hand, and Incabloc shock protection, and was used in models like the Seamaster.
