From the seller
Here we have a 1969 Omega Geneve Dynamic automatic watch. It has the 41mm ellipse case which is formed of stainless steel, with the waterproof, front loading monocoque design. The dial is the blue sunburst finish racing dial, which is a rarer variation. It has the slim baton hour markers with the luminous plots to the base. The batons sit on the white painted strips which catch the eye. The date is set at 3 o’clock with the rounded window and white wheel with black numerals. Below 12 o’clock it is signed with the Omega logo and name, with the ‘Automatic’ text. Above 6 o clock is the ‘Geneve’ ‘Dynamic’ signing. Either side of 6 o’clock is the ‘T Swiss Made T’ text. The exterior of the dial has the eye-catching chequered racing dial layout. The hands are original with the black painted based and white painted indexes. They are inset with the original luminous in-fill. The central second hand is the baby blue tone with the tapered design. The dial is protected by the acrylic crystal with is original, with the Omega etching to the centre.
As mentioned, the case measures 41mm wide. It is the monocoque design, which is front loading. It has the brushed sunburst finish to the bezel, which has worn with age. To the right is the notch, which the original Omega signed crown sits within. The case is held onto the bracelet with a screw on retaining ring. The rear of the cased is marked ‘Tool 107, waterproof’, referring to the tool needed to open.
It comes on the original steel bracelet which is the reference 1153/138. It is well sized and will fit up to an 8.5” wrist diameter.
The movement is the Omega calibre 562 which is automatic and has the quickset date function.
A late 60s/early 70s sporty and space age icon, which has an eye-catching blue sunburst racing dial. A real retro classic to enjoy!
