LeCoultre Futurematic: 1950s Original Black Mirror Gilt Dial
Up for auction is a rare LeCoultre Futurematic from the 1950s. This model is historically significant as the world’s first fully automatic watch designed without a traditional winding crown.
【Dial: Authentic Black Mirror Gilt】
The centerpiece is the unrestored, original Black Mirror Gilt Dial.
• Condition: Features genuine "stardust" patina and fine lacquer aging consistent with its age. This is not a redial.
• Details: Gold lettering and markers remain sharp against the deep glossy black surface.
【Movement & Mechanics (Caliber 497)】
• Crownless Design: Time-setting is performed via the sliding disk on the case back. It was engineered to never require manual winding.
• Functions: Power reserve indicator (9 o'clock) and sub-seconds (3 o'clock).
